Description

A few months ago, I bought a Celestron 9.25 OTA to use on my Sky-Watcher EQ6-R mount. I wanted the power of a big scope like this coupled with the precision of a really good mount.

I finally got it up and running this week, outfitted with an OAG, with which I have limited experience and success. I choose M81 as my "first light" target because it is big, beautiful and visible all night.  I'm pleased to say that I got the OAG working and the tracking was really tight.

I must credit Alicia Rossiter with a very helpful assist. She talked me through some vagaries of ASIAIR's PA sequence with a big scope that made the night successful. Thanks Alicia!

With this rig in place, I am eagerly poised for galaxy season.
